Assessment of Learning
(Grading Policy)
KUD’s – “Know, Understand, Do”
Each unit of study will have a list of learning targets known as “KUD’s”. To earn credit in this class a student needs to demonstrate a level of proficiency for each item. Formative assessments, including homework assignments and class activities will be used to determine progress towards the learning goals. Summative assessments such as lab reports, project summaries, and quizzes will determine if the student has reached the target. Students are able (and encouraged) to make revisions and do retakes if necessary. Learning is a process. There is no penalty for students who require multiple attempts to reach the target. The final grade will be based on this demonstration of learning.

KUD’s: 90%
Habits of Learning: 10%
