Greenhouse Folder
You will keep a Greenhouse Folder inside your personal folder on the Google Drive.
Inside this folder will be a Greenhouse Log where you will keep your harvest data. You can also dump photos in the folder.
These photos will be used to compile a “digital lab journal” of your greenhouse experience.
Greenhouse Log
This log will serve as a record of all planting and harvest data.
Include dates of planting, varieties planted, dates and reasons why trays were ended, and dates and weights of harvest yields.
For convenience, you can keep a hard copy in your notebook and then transfer the data to the digital log at a later time.
Digital Lab Journal
In this journal you will:
Use photos and descriptions to document all the inputs and outputs.
Inputs: soil, seeds, water, and solar energy
Outputs: plants
Use photos and descriptions to document the developmental stages, and associated structures, of your plants.
i.e. seed, seedling, cotyledons, roots/root hairs, leaves, etc.
Use photos and descriptions to document any “biotic interactions” that become evident.
i.e. aphids, algae or fungal growth, etc.
Use photos and descriptions to document any and all lab activities associated with your plants.
Reflect on what you observe and the experience. Be sure to consider the themes of interdependence, cycles, and diversity.
This digital journal will be a summative assessment of your greenhouse experience and will be incorporated into the KUD portion of your grade.
